Living the Gresham Life!

Heyyyy hows it going everybody!? Sorry its been a while since my last email but there has been a ton that has happened here recently since I've gotten to Gresham!

THE WORK IS AMAZING So when I got to this area we had 2 people on date Jose and Guadalupe and they are just a sweet old latino couple that have a such a strong desire to follow Christ and be baptized! And so since then we now have 5 people on date! Jennifer We talked to this lady Jennifer who recently got out of the hospital and underwent a lot of stuff and now she is way more open to us and she accepted a date to be baptized! Noe and Ramses Also we started meeting with this guy Noe who is also very open to us and what we were teaching. And so one night we passed by for a lesson with him and he wasn't there but we started talking to Ramses who is Noe's nephew. And he seemed very interested as well so we gave him a BOM and said we would be in touch. About a week later we met with Noe again and Ramses came home towards the end of the lesson. So as he came in we asked if he wanted to join for the last little bit. So first we asked Noe if he wanted to be baptized and he accepted and then we asked Ramses how we could help him progress toward something like this and he just said "I'm ready" IT WAS SO COOL. He explained in a later lesson that he knew God was calling him to something greater in his life and he knew that when we came and spoke with him that this gospel was it!!! Its been so amazing to see that God really does prepare and put in our path specific people who are ready to hear this gospel and accept it! SPANISH So the work in this area is completely in Spanish which I feel like has been really good for me! I've always felt my Spanish was at an okay level to get by but since being in lessons and talking with others I've felt a stronger desire to improve. Having the ability to connect with people and teach them with power even in a different language has been my ultimate goal so its been great to have a lot of practice. OREGON IS BEATIFUL We went on a hike last pday and went to this INSANELY nice waterfall it was so beautiful! It's been so fun to be able to get to see the amazing places that Oregon has to offer! THE FOOD IS TOO GOOD The members here in Gresham know how to cook and it's amazing!! The Gadea family has all the missionaries over every Sunday night for dinner and it's something I always look forward too it's so good! NEW COMP Elded Robles is my new comp out here in Gresham and hes honestly the best. He is super willing to work hard and cares a lot about the people we are teaching! Hes also a super humble and overall just good guy so working alongside him has really been a blessing. Sadly he has 9 whole months in the area of Gresham so I'm thinking he might not be sticking around here for too much longer but we will see!
